Fear-free veterinary care for pets who'd rather stay at home

If your pet is or becomes too anxious to be approached safely, pre-visit medication may be required before a house call can proceed.
If appropriate medication is not administered and/or your pet cannot be handled safely, the appointment may need to be rescheduled, and a visit fee may still apply.
We will discuss any behavioural or medical conditions your pet may have, and together with your veterinarian, we will determine the best, safest course of action, specifically tailored to your pet's needs.

What to Expect on the Day of Your Appointment
I am equipped with the necessary medical equipment and supplies for your pet’s appointment, as well as species-appropriate treats to support gentle, low-stress handling. ALL MEDICATION MUST BE PRESCRIBED AND DISPENSED BY YOUR PET'S DVM. Any medication, including administration supplies, will typically be provided by your veterinary clinic.
Each visit begins with a brief period of acclimatization while we discuss your pet’s current status and any updates from your primary veterinarian. I then perform the required procedure(s) using calm, controlled handling techniques designed to minimize fear, anxiety, and stress. I will guide you through any specific handling techniques that may be required to ensure your pet's comfort during the procedure.
All findings, measurements, or observations are reviewed with you before I leave. These are then communicated directly to your pet’s attending DVM to ensure clear and consistent continuity of care.

Professor HANK
Hello — I’m Sonia, the Registered Veterinary Nurse behind SH Mobile Veterinary Nursing Services. For more than 20 years, I’ve walked alongside animals and their families, offering care that is quiet, gentle, and rooted in respect.
I believe the most meaningful healing often happens where a pet feels safest — at home, surrounded by the scents, sounds, and comforts that make them who they are.
My work is guided by curiosity and wonder. I’m endlessly inspired by cytology, microscopy, and the tiny worlds that live beneath a lens, as well as the therapeutic rhythm of Laser Therapy. I pursue continuing education with the same passion — always seeking new ways to deepen my understanding and better support the animals in my care.
Above all, I’m devoted to protecting the human–animal bond — that quiet, powerful connection that turns moments into memories and companionship into family.
When I’m not tending to patients, you’ll find me exploring my creative side - playing instruments, singing, making art, or wandering through the woods with Professor HANK, my feline companion, who inspires me and keeps me humble. He’s the perfect mix of adventure buddy and quiet observer.
These moments restore me, and I aim to bring that same calm, grounded presence into every home I visit.
If you’re looking for care that honors your pet’s temperament as much as their health, I’d be honoured to meet you both.
